Give yourself time each day to read, to write and to think.

Pick up a book and lose yourself in the pages of a fascinating story or open your mind to a new way of thinking or approach to life.

You don’t have to read for hours on end, but start giving yourself time each morning or night to read. A few pages a day can go a long way to helping you think more clearly.

Pick up your pen and write. One of the things I make sure I do every morning and night is to write in my journal. To connect with my own thoughts, feelings and ideas.
~
Writing will help you to think more clearly and allow you to work through your own challenges and opportunities on paper, in an organised manner.
~
Writing in your journal should be part of your morning and evenings rituals and there should be no rules or format you follow. If it’s in your head and in your heart, write it down! Let your words, feelings and thoughts flow.

Give yourself time to think, to ponder and let your mind just wonder. If you’re always busy or always connected to your devices, then your mind won’t have time to relax and think clearly.
~
Giving yourself time each day to just be still and alone with your thoughts is one of the main principles of the Before5am philosophy. Allow yourself time to slow down and just think things through.
~
Having a clear head and feeling more in control and certain about yourself and your life, is vital to your own performance and wellbeing.
~
Finding a few minutes a day to read, to write and to think isn’t that hard, once you give yourself permission to look after yourself and make your own wellbeing and mental health a priority.
~
Make it part of your daily rituals to do the small things and as I always say, “The rest will start to flow...”
